[LOGic] Logic 8 message

Julio-

This probably won't help, but to steer you in the right direction, here's my story:

I'm using LOGic 9.0, but even before with 8.0, I never get the error message connected to my ICOM 7800.

I did get a timeout message when I had configured LOGic to also connect to a second radio (Kenwood TS-2000) and that radio was turned off so LOGic couldn't find it. Even then, I got the error message just once when LOGic started and even then, LOGic still opened fine--except the radio information wasn't there.

I'm using Win-8.1 but the above was true even back to Win-XP. My radio interface went directly from LOGic through a micro KEYER 2R+ but now is first going through TRX-Manager.

It seems that a lot of us hams spend more time trying to get our computerized ham radio software and systems working than we do actually communicating on the air. Hi!

Good luck . . .

-Joe, NA9A

Happens to me all the time with my ICOM 7800. Don't know what the fix is.

Subject: [LOGic] Logic 8 message

Hello All,

I run LOGic 8.0.104 with a Yaesu FT-1000D and FIF-232C CAT System. From the time I open LOGic until I close out of it, I get the following message:

Yaesu FT-1000 (com1)
A timeout occurred while attempting to communicate with a rig.
Make sure a rig is turned on and check cabling and setup parameters.

POLLING DISABLED. 0 characters in buffer.

In order to have the radio communicate with LOGic, I have to go to TOOLS > Reset radio and Rotor Interface.

I can be sitting in front of the radio just listening and the message will pop up and I lose communication with the radio and LOGic.

My parameters are:

Radio 1: FT 1000 (6.0 or later ROM)
Port: com1
Baud rate: Ø (should this be 4800?)
Stop Bits: 2
DTR and RTS both are checked.
Polling interval in seconds (polled rigs only): 2.0

Anyone experience the same problem?

Thanks,
Vin, 73
