[LOGic] LOGic forum

I hope this is the last post on this thread... AND that I'm not being lumped
in with the complainers because I'm posting on the same thread. I'm NOT NOT
NOT complaining! All software has bugs. There is no such thing as bug-free
software. It's just a matter of: (1) Are the remaining bugs in the
just-superseded version (V8 in our case) easily worked around such that the
user isn't tearing his/her hair out, suffering crashes, losing data, etc.?
(2) Is the just-superseded version (V8) still being supported with bug fixes
contained in published free updates?
Software vendors do vary in how they approach this problem. With some, when
the next major revision comes out, THAT'S IT for the previous revision,
pardner. No longer supported, period; if you want something that works a
little better in some feature or other, then buy the major upgrade to the
next revision. With some other companies, like Microsoft, they will continue
to support the previous revision -- often more than one previous revision --
with regular updates and service packs. I just don't know what LOGic's
policy is on this, and I would like to know.
I know I will upgrade to LOGic 9 pretty soon, but right now, I'm in the
middle of a personal and family financial crisis, and it seems like
everything is hitting us at once! I'm sure you all know how those
(hopefully) limited periods of your life can feel. I need to get through
this and have some sense of knowing I'll be able to hang onto my house, and
THEN I'll think about upgrading to LOGic 9.
So -- Is Dennis going to be issuing any more updates to LOGic 8 to fix
existing bugs, or not? I really want the free, off-the-web version of
QRZ.com to work right with importing the amateur's NAME. Dennis??
Looking forward to LOGic 9 -- one of these days --

Yes, i had an old pc and logic 9 would not run on it ... once I had
switched to the MAC and Parallels...all was well.. the band map is a
terrific addition
but like the rest of the full service logging programs, an old pc will not
cut it
