[LOGic] Logic and K3

I am also using LOGic 8 with my K3, and it "works", sort of, using the K2
support mode. It reads mode and VFO frequency. There is no native support
mode for the K3, however, and there are a lot of things in LOGic that don't
work right with the K3. For example, try switching to the B VFO, or setting
the A and B VFOs to the same frequency, or going into Split mode using the
buttons on the LOGic screen. You can't. Those LOGic functions don't work on
the K3.
Now, you can say, OK, if you want to control all that stuff from the
computer, you can interpose TRX Manager, which has elaborate native-mode K3
support, between LOGic and the rig. True enough. But the controls mentioned
above exist on the LOGic screen, and they work for directly supported rigs.
They should work on the K3, and the K3 (as being one of the premier
transceivers on the ham market today) should be supported with dedicated
code. Why direct support for the K3 is still not considered a priority after
all these years is a mystery to me.

Subject: [LOGic] Logic and K3
I use Logic with my K3 with no problem. In my set up, I am using Ham Radio
Deluxe and DM780 and I have an LP-PAN to run with SDR and a Steppir SDA 100
to control my Steppir vertical. I connect to the K3 using N8LP's software
that allows sharing of serial ports.
If you just want to connect the K3 and Logic that would make it much
simpler.
Good luck and 73,
