[LOGic] ADIF file output corrupt?

Phil-
I ran into the same thing. Mine ran maybe 35 records and quit. I did some
patching and got it to run further. Etc, etc. I also tried Logger32--same
thing. It was not obvious to me what if anything was wrong with the Logic
output. I looked at the AIDF and could not find anything obvious. While
beating my head against the wall I found out that there have been several
refinements of the ADIF specifications, and Logic is using an early version
while HRD and Logger32 are using the latest. I never concluded this was the
issue, though. I started looking at "helper" programs and finally found
one:
Igor Tolmachev (UU0JC)
http://www.dxshell.com
There are two programs. One is ADIF Master. Though my memory is a little
sketchy, I think this is an ADIF editor, The second is Logchecker, which
looks at the ADIF exports and fingers which Q's are bad. And it fingered
the ones that made HRD choke. The procedure was to run Logchecker and find
the next bad Q, and then try to use ADIF Master to see and clear up the
problem. In some cases it was necessary to reenter the Q and delete the bad
record.
I don't remember the cost, maybe $50. I did call on Igor for help a couple
of times, and he responded quickly. Finally after a lot of work, I got
everything into HRD.
The reason I did this was that I have a nagging worry. Logic has been the
best logging program I have ever used, and I still use it every day. But a
new version or an upgrade has been a long, long time coming. Dennis has
obviously been very busy on other things, and though there have been
sporadic reports that a new version is coming, I have been hearing that for
several years.
But time has passed and operating systems have moved on, and my worry is
that I might not be able to get the 25K Q's in Logic into anything else and
that Logic might (I hope not) have reached the end of its run.
I just saw several nights ago that Windows 7 will drop support for the ISA
bus (no big deal to me) and that it will also drop support for both parallel
and serial ports. Time is indeed moving on, and before long some of my
machines will look as obsolete as several old clunkers I still have with
5.25 floppy drives and 64M memory. I don't know if the existing Logic will
run on Windows 7, but that might be a challenge. Windows Vista does not
accept most Windows 2000 device drivers, and Windows 7 will support only
occasional Windows XP drivers. Times are a'changing and we are going to
need a new version of Logic before too many eye blinks have passed or be
stuck.
Let us know how you fix your ADIF problem. I found it a really tough nut.
73 and Good Luck!

Subject: [LOGic] ADIF file output corrupt?
Hello all, it's been quite a while since I posted here but I have a
question I hope someone can help with. I am exporting my log file as an
ADIF file so I can import it into Ham Radio Deluxe so I can give that
program a good once over. Everything seems to go just fine until I try
and import it and HRD only accepts the first log entry. I did take a
look at the ADIF file and everything seems okay. Am I missing something
here? I did take the defaults on the export window.
Thanks and 73 - Phil
