Sounded like the ticket but nope same problem. I was looking in the 
band table for the problem originally, so I went back and changed the 
mode to USB and it still comes up with the same error. After a few 
seconds it does change the radio to 6M and leaves the mode the same 
as whatever band I'm originally on.
