[LOGic] Logic 8 ADIF Version

Don't be too sure that your program will not import earlier ADIF versions.
I recently tried importing my LOGIC exported ADIF into both Logger32 and Ham
Radio Deluxe. Both failed. Leaving out the details, this was because of
errors in the ADIF file which were apparently so bad as to make both
programs reject the file. After a lot of examination, I have gotten around
21K out of 22K Q's in Logic over to both the other programs.
I was greatly helped by a program called Log Checker. Unfortunately it is
not free, but there is another program by the same author which is called
ADIF Master. It will run through an ADIF file and flag the offensive Q's
and identify the field which is the offender. Log checker will let you
easily edit the file to clean it up.
I have no connection with the program, which I think cost $25.
It is at http://www.contestlogchecker.com/
These days I typically use N1MM for contest and general logging use. It is
certainly not a general logging oriented package, so I export ADIF from it
and import to LOGIC. I like the digital package with HRD and I was
interested in keeping an up to date log in HRD to help me go after contacts
I need in the digital modes.
However, LOGIC has not been updated to a new version in quite a while now,
and I am beginning to wonder whether it ever will be. So it was also
important for me to know that I can get the Qs out of LOGIC to another
package if I have to--and I was a little unsettled to find that I couldn't,
at least at first.
Logger32 does provide a "bad ADIF" file containing Qs it did not import, but
some of the LOGIC records were so bad that Logger32 simply quit. In
retrospect I am wondering if the "reconcile" list provided by Logic as part
of an awards update might not have contained the records causing the
problems.

Subject: [LOGic] Logic 8 ADIF Version
I am curious what ADIF version Logic 8 uses when it outputs an ADIF
file. I recently imported my log into another program that will accept
ADIF 2.2. I found that none of my LOTW contact info was converted.I am
not looking to leave Logic as my main logging program. I was interested
in the features of the other as I could convert to a SQL database for my
website. This would allow me to have an Are you in my log search on my
site. I looked at the header of the file Logic puts out and I see 1.0.
so I am quessing it does not convert all the info that 2.2 can read.
Hope my question makes sense )))
Thanks
