Oh, and regarding issue 3 -- this is an old, old, OLD problem
going back more revisions than I have even used. I have no idea
what causes it, but I do know it is font-sensitive. Try playing
with substituting some different fonts in the affected windows and
see if you find one that doesn't do it. I suspect which fonts
"work" is a system-specific thing, so no recommendations.
