yes you are correct , but , the WHS will let you do much more than just backups etc... a neat thing about it is the ability to get to your files remotely from anywhere in the world , securely , well thats what they say anyhow , that will have to be proven out. it is based on Windows Server 2003 SP2 so it is a litel more secure than XP/Vista i suppose.... it is an interesting product , but , i think the price is a bit too high yet , i think it is around $200 from some articles i saw on the internet but havent yet confirmed that.

Yes having more than one backup is a very very good idea !! if you dont it will come back to bite you sooner or later !!

While it is an interesting product Dan... you don't need to buy a second 
computer and expensive software to do backups. Overkill I would say.
For a very good GUI based utility to do scheduled backups take a look at 
Syncback at http://www.2brightsparks.com  They have a free version 
available for home use. I use it to do daily backups. The free version's 
only real limitation is it won't back up open files, so you have to 
close Logic overnight. I believe the full featured commercial version is 
around $30.
