Jeff:
This is a very good question which I have struggled with for some time.
I also use MixW. For RTTY I let MixW do the the radio control and
feed the Freq and Mode info to Logic. I do the Callbook lookup and
rotor control in Logic. There are some disadvantages to this. MixW
cannot use the MMTTY engine because it is a commercial program and its
RTTY implementation leaves some things to be desired. Among other
issues It does not transmit Unshift on Space as MMTTY does. This
leads to real problems in contesting. However, MixW does a pretty
good job of copying RTTY. I find the waterfall tuning display too
slow so I usually keep a MMTTY window open as well so I can use the
scope tuning tool although one could try using the faster MixW
Spectrum tuning display instead of the Waterfall display.
For RTTY contesting I would use N1MM logger and then dump the log into
Logic. The N1MM program is well supported and uses the MMTTY engine.
Let me know if you have problems. I probably can help.
I consider these matters the most important issues surrounding the use of Logic.
