[LOGic] Logic 8 and Microham Interfaces

All,
I was wondering what you all thought of this idea.
How about if every time one of us had to reset our communications with our
rigs because of a failure within Logic (with its latest upgrade and Micro
Ham products with their most current release) sent a post to the list that
said we had to reset our stations. Do you think you would become weary of
our problem as much as we are for having dealt with it without any help from
Dennis. Granted, Dennis has answered my messages but as I said earlier,
blames the problem on MicroHams products. But alas, there are some who are
having success. So, it could be on my end! For the record, I am an I T
engineer and have owned Logic since Ver 5. I always update my files, load
the latest service pack to my PC, never jump on Microsoft's latest Operating
Systems because they seem to always be buggy and have used Logic when I had
no issues with my setup and applauded Dennis for a great job. I wish I
could pinpoint the update that started the issues that many of us are
having.
Maybe, if you say a post every time one of us had to deal with this issue
you would get in our corner and support the need to find a fix. We are
paying for a fully functioning product. And we have seen other products,
either payware or freeware work 100% with the same computer/interface/rig!
I am not ungrateful! I just want to help come to a resolution so that we
can all have a "Perfect" situation!
Thanks for listening.

Hi All;
I use a MK2R+ with LOGIC 8, and have had some trouble keeping the link open
on Radio One (FT-2000). Usually after ten minutes I am forced to reset the
radio interfaces in order to bring it back to life. Radio Two FT-1000MP
works flawlessly with the MK2R+ and LOGIC, and both radios are connected at
the same time in my case.
I have also noted that I am unable to automatically log split frequency
using the FT-2000; even when I am hooked straight to the serial port of the
computer (bypassing the MK2R+). This leads me to believe there is problem
that surrounds the FT-2000 and LOGIC, and the SO2R controller is running as
it should with LOGIC.
I am not sure if this helps, but I thought it worth noting my experience.

Theory: it can depend on the commercial libraries used, which is
dependent on the development platform... most programmers don't write
the COM routines themselves. (I don't know if this is the case with
Logic). The COM manipulation used by Ham programs sometimes pushes the
envelope with these libraries that are usually developed for standard
serial communications. Getting this fixed or working around it can be
time consuming.
OTOH, my Microham interface works perfectly with Logic (using USB)... so
what does that prove... absolutely nothing ;-)
So pass on your exact setup... and I'll see if I can help this evening
until Dennis gets back to you...
