In Excel, do a data import from text. You may have to change the file
type to "all" in order to see your file. When you do the import, tell
Excel to import as "fixed width", not as comma delimited. ADIF is just
a text file with the data arranged in a certain order so all the
different logging programs put things in the correct spots.

Subject: [LOGic] ADIF CQ DX Marathon
I know I'm showing a bit of ignorance here but need some info. How do I
send my ADIF of the 2008 DX Marathon log to the Exel file showing the CQ
format? I have saved the 2008 log to my desktop but now what?
Tks, vy 73,

"Under Socialism, you would not be allowed to be poor. You would be
forcibly fed, clothed, lodged, taught, and employed whether you liked it
or not. If it were discovered that you had not character and industry
enough to be worth all this trouble, you might possibly be executed in a
kindly manner; but whilst you were permitted to live, you would have to
live well." 1
