AT the risk of wandering a little off subject Dan.

Back in the 90's when I was responsible (along with another Ham) for the
servers for one of the faculties at McGill University, we had a bet
going with another faculty as to who could keep their servers up and
running uninterrupted for the longest time. BTW, the dean was aware and
probably had a few bucks riding on the outcome. We were past 2 years
(These servers were NOT running Windows) and counting when our luck ran
out. A 550V building transformer had to be replaced and the building
power was shut down over the weekend. When we restarted the computers on
Monday morning, 3 of 12 servers would not boot! BTW the bet only applied
to the main file servers (3 or 4 machines). We lost but tried to claim a
technical foul ;-)
