[LOGic] 2 RIGS IN LOGIC

Hi Mel...

Rig are Yaesu FT1000MP (which has been running on LOGIC for years) and the
new rig is a TS2000. Chances are only one will be used at a time, altho
rapid/simultaneous switch would be very desireable.

The hamshack PC runs Windows XP, alto only has one (old style) serial port.

I could add USB-to-serial converter but would rather keep it simple and not
get into extra cost...altho will spend money if that's the best solution.

Primary goal right now is to have two rigs talking to LOGIC for logging, DX
spots, etc. The computer rig control is not important now, altho I do have
plans to maybe move the Kenwood closer to the tower and use it remoted as a
VHF/UHF only rig, maybe HF backup rig.

The stuff I can think the rigs will share is:

a) coax/antennas
b) sound card i/o
c) serial link to LOGIC

Can't predict what might change in the fuutre, but that's what's on the
table now.

Does this answer your question...or raise new ones?
Tnx es 73

There are a number of ways to do it either sharing a bus or using 2 CI-V
busses. It depends on your setup. Sharing a bus is a good idea if you are
using 2 transceivers but no other automated accessories using the same bus.
2 busses requires 2 RS232->TTL level converters. Give a bit more detail and
I can help.

Dan,

In a nut shell, you must set up each rig with its own port using the setup
menu. You will see a seperate "rig" display for each rig in Logic. You can
select the rig from which Logic will collect data on the Main log form.

If you have multiple ICOM rigs I believe it is possible to use only one port

and simply specivy different addresses for each rig.
