OMISS HOME PAGE HAS MOVED

For a number of reasons, OMISS has moved the home page to a different 
server. The old server let us down several times which caused much 
grief with such operations as Netlogger, list servers, and down-time 
in general. The old server also cost a great deal more due to a major 
feature which we became unable to use due to the fact that the only 
member we had that knew how to program that feature has become 
understandably too busy with their own career to have the required 
time to keep the OMISS programming up to speed with our changes. 
Here's a brief summary of what will change:
    * No more search engines to look members up.
    * No more automated roster updates. These will go back to manual 
entry by volunteers, which will mean they are not quite as fast at 
being updated.
    * No more "New Members" welcome announcement at the top of the home page.
    * No more high cost or down-time.

Here's what we gain:
    * Cost a fraction of what we've been paying.
    * Reliable tech support 24/7.
    * Our list servers have resided here for months, so we now have 
the whole site in one place for convenience and easier upkeep.
    * A control panel that allows for easier site-wide changes, and 
controllable access to allow for more volunteers in specific areas. 
We'll be looking for volunteers to head some of this up - such as 
Membership Rosters, Military Rosters, and other areas as they arise.
    * A new UTC clock on the home page. (Requires Java)

In general, we ask that you please understand that much thought went 
into this change - and we hope you'll understand. While we all hate 
to lose the convenience that searchable rosters provided, we were 
simply unable to keep up with that technology on our budget.
