Dave,
I am using Logic and TRX-Manager. The digital modes software is MixW2 ver.
2.17. I also use the MicroHam MicroKeyer.
First, in the MicroHam router software, load the template for MixW. Change
the template so that the ports used by MixW are NOT the same ports that you
will be using with TRX-Manager. (This is to prevent conflicts when you
follow the startup sequence described below.) Save the device as preset
button. I called mine simply "MixW".
Second, in the MicroHam router software, load the template for TRX-Manager.
Save this device also as a prest button. I called mine "TRX-Manager".
Finally, make sure that in Logic, NO PORT is selected for CW. This causes a
conflict with MixW.
Next, in Logic, set up TRX-Manager as a radio.
Also, in Logic, enable the MixW interface.
The startup sequence is important. I have found the following sequence works
every time:
1. Start the MicroHam router software.
2. Select the MixW preset.
3. Load the MixW software.
4. Load Logic. Logic will automatically load TRX-Manager.
5. Click on the MixW window and work a station in digital mode.
Now, if you work a station in MixW, so long as the call of that station
appears in the MixW log window, you log the QSO in MixW. The entry will
automatically be inserted into the Logic log through the MixW interface.
HOWEVER, watch out for this scenario: You have MixW, Logic and TRX-Manager
all running. You've been working a station in digital modes on MixW. You see
a station in the Logic spot log (or the one in TRX-Manager, for that matter)
and you click on it hoping to set your rig to the spot. IT WILL NOT RESPOND.
You MUST remember to select the TRX-Manager device in the MicroHam router
software for the spot log to work. (I have noticed that if you respond
quickly, once you realize that the TRX-Manager device needed to be selected
and go ahead and select it late, TRX-Manager will pick up the last spot you
tried and will set the radio.) Then set the rotator using TRX-Manager. Once
the radio and rotator are set, you must remember to re-select the MixW
device in the MicroHam software if you want to go back and work that station
in digital modes using MixW.
Have fun.
Marty,
N1HT

Downloaded latest incantation of Logic and installed it on my laptop without
issue.
I then upgraded the desktop and lost my internet connection with Logic.
It will no longer connect to any of the clusters or update the membership
files.
Internet connection is alive and well otherwise
Any ideas?

If you are using a firewall, you probably have to grant access to the new
version of Logic.

I am a long time user of TRX-Manager and am just about decided to link this
up with Logic 8.
One of the new things I would like to try are the digital modes with good
integration to Logic. I would be grateful if any digital mode users could
give me the benefit of their experience of both software and interface unit.
As far as software is concerned it seems Hamscope and MixW are two possible
options.
As far as hardware is concerned, I would like to use an interface unit that
uses USB and has its own sound card. I like the look of the Tigertronics
Signal Link USB and there is also the Rigexpert units that MixW also produce
(but seem rather more pricey). Am happy to consider others.
As I want to experiment, flexibility and ease of set up are important and of
course the integration with Logic.
Any comments would be most welcome.

Dave, G3UEG

I'm using MixW. It's stable and easy to set up and integrates nicely with
Logic. I use a Microham interface... But with a PC soundcard... Next time
around I might use a USB based sound card... But the setup works very well.
Don't use TRX-manager... Frankly I've never really understood why anyone
would want to duplicate the radio controls on the PC except for remore
operation... But that's another subject ;-)
Anyway... I think you would be happy with MixW...
