[LOGic] LOG Enhancement - is this useful?

I would like this enhancement too!

It would be nice to have the "qsl via" call looked up and sent to the
address area. I have to do an extra step or two now the way it is to get the
correct address (via manager) in there for qsling and not print a label that
I don't need for the direct route.

Subject: [LOGic] LOG Enhancement - is this useful?

What do you think of this change which would be OPTIONAL, meaning use it if
you desire and if you have no interest it would be completely transparent to
you as a user:

CURRENT LOGic8 METHODS - -

Automatic Entry -
1. A user can invoke automatic entry of worked station's address into your
log. Using this features allows LOGic to fetch address from a call book and
enter into the address field.

Manual Entry -
1. User does not have automatic address entry option selected in setup.
2. User may now manually select "Callbook to address" which fetches address
from call books only for the opened log record and only when the user
manually takes this action.
3. If the user has entered a different call sign, such as a QSL Manager call
sign, home call sign, etc, then this is the address fetched and entered into
the log form address field.

PROPOSED ENHANCEMENT - -
Reminder - these are additional options, user selectable, LOGic8 retains
same options/actions as above.

ADD THESE ADDITIONAL FEATURES:
1. Allow an additional selection in setup that enables automatic entry of
ONLY address for the call sign entered into the "QSL Via" logform field.
This option excludes entry of the worked station address, and only enters
address of the QSL Via address.
2. Allow an additional selection in setup that enables automatic entry of
BOTH address for the worked station AND the call sign entered into the "QSL
Via" logform field. QSL Via address would be entered into the address
logform field as this is the address you want to extract for QSLing use. The
worked station address is entered into the Notes logform field, as this is
now historical info not intended for QSLing. This address merely needs to be
retained as a notaion if user has selected this option.

VALUE ADDED - -
The user may now log addresses in the following five methods:
1. Automatic, worked station address only. <existing>
2. Manual, worked station address only. <existing>
3. Manual, QSL Via address only. <existing>
4. Automatic, QSL Via address only. <PROPOSED>
5. Automatic, worked station address and QSL Via address. <PROPOSED>

If you support this idea, please let PDA know.

Regards, Bill K1UQ

When I log a callsign such as 4L1AN which in my case is only found on
QRZ.com... The focus shifts to the Calbook window instead of staying on the
log window.
