Carl, To accomplish that task is easy. In Logic 7, go to the lists of valid
values in the setup submenu of tools menu. Highlight and double click on RIG
in "Navigate to List". Then select export list to a location on your hard
disk that you will save it to.
Now open up Logic 8 and do the same procedure, except this time select
import list from the file that you save. Viola done! You can do this with
another list fields.

Bill, thanks for the reply. I guess I didn't make myself clear. It's not
the user field entries themselves that I'm having trouble with but the
actual field values. For instance, I have a user field called RIG and that
has about seven field values (e.g., ICOM 756Pro, Kenwood 680s, AEA 10M
Handy, etc.) While the data for this is in the log I transferred, the user
field has not been assigned the proper values (e.g., rig names). I know how
to do this manually, but it would be a pain. I don't think the values are
transferred with the old log form, are they? I'm actually using a new log
form, not the one I used with 7. I did transfer the old log form to 8, but
it's not my default at the moment. There is a way to get these values
transferred from LOGic, but I can't remember how to do it. Have I explained
the problem more clearly now?
Thanks.
73,
Carl
