[LOGic] Loss of serial comms with rig when tx on CW

This is probably one of those "It's the software" / "No, it's the hardware" kind of things... But I really do think it's the hardware, and if anyone else concurs, I'll post something on the TS-2000 group.

I'm using LOGic 7 to communicate with my Kenwood TS-2000 for routine logging purposes (mode and frequency). I'm using the 38,400 baud setting, 1 stop bit, polling the rig every 100 ms (fastest setting). This works fine except for when I'm transmitting on CW, using the rig's internal keyer. In this mode, I will usually get a "unable to communicate with with rig" message from LOGic. My guess is that the TS-2000 processor is too busy (due to internal keyer?) to service the serial port every time it interrupts, and LOGic bails out on it.

Question: Does anyone know if LOGic errors out when even ONE serial exchange is missed -- in other words, no retries? I don't want to decrease the polling frequency or baud rate -- but if my scenario is right, that probably wouldn't solve the problem anyway, just make it somewhat less frequent.

Has anyone else experienced this problem when sending on CW? If so, with what rig?
