This is rather easy to accomplish. First download the database file from the
FCC database to a CD as you have mentioned.

Then copy this file to a directory on your the pc where you are running
Logic 7. Then go to the Tools menu in Logic 7 and select import FCC Call
book. Click on the tab Process and then make sure the file that you saved
with the FCC database in located in the Download File Name box. If not,
click Change to change the file location and name. Once this is done click
on process icon. If you want to update the entire database be sure to
unclick the "Process only new records"

i have a question regarding the internal call book feature of logic-7. i
know that i can update the internal data by downloading the current fcc
database with logic-7. however, my home machine is slow dialup and i'd
prefer to grab the database from my office dsl line.

is there a way that i can download the fcc data and then have logic update
from that--say from a cd?

bear with me... i'm still learning this program.

thanks!
