Well I just joined LoTW, and I must say this is a pretty cool LOGic feature. I also want to say >> THANKS to Dennis << for making what is an ARRL overkill process something delightful & simplistic to use! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Why so thankful you ask? Read on....

First, how do we convince ARRL that Amateur Radio is a H-O-B-B-Y ??

Second, how is it the FCC can trust us amateurs enough to issue a license good for TEN years .... but the ARRL certificate is good for only ONE? Something is definitely wrong here!

I just took out SIX certificates to cover six variants of several calls I've held. This too seems a bit much. It's a database isn't it? Like LOGic? Hmmm, I can enter in LOGic the following five different callsigns (as an example, using mock callsigns) QU1K, QU1K/M, QU1K/130, QU1AK, QU1AK/M ... right? You bet. And can I search LOGic and find JUST QU1K/130? or multiple QSOs with this station? or find all of my example callsigns? YES! Why do you suppose we can do this in LOGic? Wait - before you answer that - the more important question I'd like to ask is why, apparently to me, can I not do the same in LoTW? For if I could, I'd need but one certificate, and would only need to upload one log of every QSO I've ever had in my life! To further this concept, I found I could download every QSO others have had with ALL of my callsigns! SO ... I have to upload one callsign at a time please, but download can be all at a time? What the?

For what should be as simple as Dennis has made working with LoTW, it seems to me the ARRL went the other direction and made it far more complicated than I'd like to see a hobby taken.

The next time you as a LOGic user contemplate changing software, or the small cost of an upgrade, please remember the value Dennis keeps adding to a superb product.

And NO - I am in no way affiliated with LOGic/PDA other than as a long time, satisfied, customer.

Regards, Bill K1UQ
