Hi George et al:
The List you quoted from Ken, the author of CT is good for NAQP ONLY !!! Ken was
trying his best to get NAQP Support added to CT before this weekends contest.
There is a small bug in the NA.DAT file, so if any of you are going to use CT for NAQP
email me and I'll send you the updated file if Ken doesn't get it up on the CT list.
He was up against many pieces of conflicting information, mainly on Newfoundland and
Labrador. NCJ who sponsored NAQP defined Newfoundland/Labrador as one and MULT.
NA and TR defined them as 2 separate MULTs, leaving Ken scratching his head or maybe
tearing his hair out. He finally decided to go with what the sponsor said,NUF/LAB=NL !!!
None of us were able to get any response from the people at NCJ on the contest questions.
Other contests will be different. As few as 8 to as many 14 entities for Canada.
Some will still be using MAR, RAC Sections, and/or the combined territories of NT,NU,
and YT being NT. Sometimes NWT is thrown in the mix just to keep things interesting HI.
The best treatment of Canada and contests that I have seen is by Marc, W6ZZZ.
You can check out his research at http://www.nccc.cc/newsletter.html .
However the bottom line is still more inconsistency than I thought before. I guess we will
have to live with it for the time being.
BTW: I'm still trying to work Nunavut on any band. The whole territory only has 18 licensed
hams LIVING (have postal addresses) there, however there are 32 licenses ISSUED in NU (VY0),
so I guess that 14 of them must be "Snow Birds" and moved south to Ontario or Manitoba for
the winter and never went back in the spring HI.
Another interesting fact about Nunavut is 8 of the 18 licensees live in the town of Iqaluit.
Do a Google search on Nunavut or Iqaluit for some nice scenery !!!
