If one "adopts" a logging program, it's probably wise to stay with the
latest version as it's the only one that will continuously be upgraded to
match new OS, new hardware etc...
Besides, it's in your interest to keep the programmer tinkering. It's an
unfortunate fact of life that all programs are buggy... And highly
specialized programs such as loggers are especially so. Continuing support
is essential.
That being said, the LotW interface is worth the cost of the upgrade... And
there have been some important improvements to the Icom drivers that never
worked properly in ver 6. They now work flawlessly.
