Hi Jim:
Got my postcard from the League in the Friday morning mail. Expect the email
confirmation Monday or Tuesday !!!
During the Beta Test I uploaded my ADIF's 2 ways:
1- I use CT as my contest logging program. I have to use C2A to convert my "CT.BIN"
files to ADIF's anyway in order to IMPORT them into LOGic. Since the ADIF's already
existed it was a simple matter to upload them individually into LoTW. This gave me
a baseline on the minimum data I feed to LoTW.
2- After Importing all of my CT ADIF's into LOGic, I Exported the "BIG ADIF" from LOGic
with all of the INFO filled in. I did have to do minor filtering for my 2 callsigns
and the dates prior to the LoTW date of 1/1/1998.
I uploaded the "BIG ADIF's" to LoTW and found 0 "ZERO" ERRORS for ALL callsigns!!!
So MY recommendation to LOGic users it to just upload your "BIG ADIF EXPORT" file first !!!
If you have any problems then you can do a backtrack. My guess is that 99% of you won't
have to !!! The biggest problem reported was using an O "oh" instead of a 0 "zero" !!!
One thing I did do is create a numbering system that I can hopefully remember !!! I name
the file Exported from logic "LX092103.ADI". Translated it means "Logic eXport 09/21/03" !!!
Then say a month and a half later I could do another Export and call it "LX120803" and just
upload the whole file to LoTW and let LoTW sort out the NEW QSO's !!!
You could also upload the filtered Export file containing QSO' between 09/21/03 and 12/08/03
if you want, but suppose that you found a "Busted Call" like I did in 2002 ARRL SS when I had
M5T14 instead of M5T/4. If you simply just uploaded the incremental file the error would
never be corrected and M5T/4 would never be credited with a valid QSO due to MY typo !!!
All it ever costs to upload the full "LOGic ADIF Export File"is a little processing and
connect time to LoTW, but at least LoTW has the BEST INFO you can give it !!!
Like you, I still keep track of the uploads with a pencil and notepad.
