Steve, that is exactly how I switch between my Omni VI+ and=
 FT1000MP. 
I wish there was a more convenient way to select radios as well.=
 I 
always have both rigs on (different bands of course) and switch 
between them quite often. I usually just enter band and mode info=
 
manually.
