[Logic] VALID ENTIRES, LISTS, QSL'S, ETC

Hiya Carl, how ya been?

1. So how do you know when a new one is added? Well, let me state that as a very-part-time DXer, I am not up on everything that's going on, and often miss the new ones that show up. I get in this trouble about once a year, and eventually borrow someone else's prefix list, altho an up-to-date prefix list on the HOSENOSE site would be a real blessing!

2. OK, I went thru your PREFIX TABLE steps. K1B was already there, along with KH!, WH1, and a few other prefixes. The K1B was listed as K1B_ (underscore), don't know it or the K1B got there, probably the last time I borrowed someone's PREFIX TABLE (yours?!?). Deleted the underscore, saved, updated progress, did a CLEAN. Looked at PROGRESS LIST...still no KH1 shown as worked! GRRRRR!

3. I don't know why the labels don't print either. There's no doubt: a whole bunch have "R" in the QSL-SENT window.

4. What is in the criteria window of the print menu is: QSL_SENT="R" AND!EMPTY(ADDRESS). I'm using the 3-across-with-address report. There are several DOZEN send QSL requests listed but when I run the print fucntion, it says "no records match select criteria or file is empty". What's wierd is that LOGIC -did- print a bunch of labels for me, just not all of them. I believe all/most of the ones that are not printing are older QSO's which I never got around to printing (maybe pre-LOGIC6? a formatting inconsistency?).

I can't figure out what's going on. I am starting to think that I should maybe uninstall/reinstall LOGIC entirely. I also get occasional/intermittent crashes (move cursor up to the main LOG window and bunch of strange FoxPro errors pop up. I have sent these to Dennis before and he's said he does get other reports of this problem, etc. I believe him, but I have had this condition since first upgrading to LOGIC6...I'm wondering if all these strange behaviors are related?

Thanks for your help. Any other suggestions, psychotherapy, etc., will be greatly appreciated.

  Hi Dan,

I keep up my own prefix table as new ones are added. With K1B, for example, (I have no idea why they would assign such a call to that DXpedetion), I clicked, 'Tools' -->'Setup" --->'Prefix Table' --->'G' --->KH1 and then added K1B in the 'Prefixes' line.
If you do this each time a new one is added, you are always up to date and then new ones WILL show up as worked after you have worked and entered them.

I don't quite understand why you have a problem printing the QSO labels. Here it works perfectly, also the printing of the QSL cards and envelopes.

I print the envelopes and cards first by, in the command line after "QSL_SENT = "R", adding "AND NOT EMPTY (ADDRESS)", minus the quotation marks. I mark them as printed and then run off all the cards without an address.
It should work the same for labels.

Are you sure that the command, "QSL_SENT = "R" is there when you go to print the labels?

I hope that this will help you with your problems. Good luck.

    Hi Richard...

Thanks for the info. yes, I did "update awards progress". LOGIC still seems
to be missing things that should be reported differently.

I can scroll down the LOG screen and see lots of cases where the QSL (S)
field has an "R" in it, yet the labels are not being printed.

    Baker Island (K1B, KH1) a different problem:

In the prefixes table, "K1B_" is listed as being Baker Island. However if I
pull up the contact in my my log file, the INFO windows shows it as being
    "United States", and

the AWARDS PROGRESS/DXCC list shows KH1 as not having been worked, and

the PROGRESS DISPLAY 2 (DCXX) shows KH1 as unworked

I imagine this is a problem with my PREFIX table, but I don't know what's
    amiss...any suggestions?

    Thanks and 73
