Has anyone used (with success) any good (and cheap) OCR software to scan =
in
old logs? I have tried only one (Simple OCR / free download) and it =
tries
too hard to correct "mistakes" and make suggestions. For example, it
interprets "zero" (with a "/") as a "/" (only); any call sign with a "5" =
is
interpreted as an "S"; "2"'s as a "Z", some call signs are changed to =
words,
etc. I am sure these are common OCR problems, but perhaps someone has =
some
suggested software that works well. I realize that I can make manual =
changes
and some search and replace work, but I have a lot of paper logs that =
need
to be converted. I will be starting with printouts from contests (I no
longer have the files), then I might try hand written logs.=20

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

BTW, I am a new LOGic 6 user, and have so far converted about 15,000 =
QSO's
from TR Log and Win1010 files and from handwritten logs. I have only =
about
50,000 to go!
