I did not make any such changes and I do realize that this ONEROUS and
ROTTEN method of protection exists with Logic. We are not trusted m, it is
too bad that the pirates are out there and it is felt necessary to intrude
on honest users. In any case , I got it going. Yes, I do make backups with
Norton Ghost and have never had that cause the CD thing, when just restoring
to the same machine with no changes. I assume that it shod not as all files
should be restored to EXACTLY the same location with ghost and all files,
hidden or tricky or not should be restored. I don't know exactly how his
copy protection works but I have never liked it. The program itself is good
enough to put up with it!
I do have to admit it is not nearly as bad as it used to be. It was in the
past that you had to put in every cd from the earliest version you had to
the current update, does not seem to require that any more. At least there
is something to be thankful for there! At least he does not use product
activation. Turbo Tax does that now so you can only install on one machine!
Even worse is if you have a problem it takes an hour or more to get to Turbo
to get it fixed. I have to at least give Microsoft credit as it only takes
minutes to get activation over the phone if the internet method fails.
