[Logic] Changing the Time

Jim(s):

It may be a minor issue to you, and perhaps a minor programming issue, but
there appears to be enough LOGIC customers that the issue comes up every
time there is a standard/daylight savings time change! So if it looks and
smells like an issue it must be!

In my case, and I suspect many of the users who bring this issue up, I
unfortunately only get to operate a few hours a month, maybe 1 or 2 contest
a year, etc. Unlike you I am not in the habit of eyeballing the station
clocks, I rely on the PC and my logging program to take care of the time
issues.

Altho I have been using LOGIC for 3-4 years I am not a LOGIC power user and
consistently either forget to make the change in LOGIC, or forget how to do
it! Every time we go from standard time to daylight savings (or vice versa),
I discover, to my dismay, that my PC clock and LOGIC's clock have been out
of sync for some period of time. As a result, twice a year I probably spend
a half hour doing clerical tasks that could easily be automated.

Dennis' reasoning for "they way it is" is fine, but I agree the users should
have a choice as a setup option, track the system clock (and live the
consequences), as a popup reminder, etc. After all, the software's supposed
to make life easier!
