There is now available a DLL (FREE) that replaces the DLL used by Radio
Amateurs CALLBOOK dll that is used when you have the RAC CDROM and are using
it to get data. What it does is go to the website instead of the CDROM or
Hard Drive. The neat thing is that it is totally transparent to the program.
The program thinks it just got it from a somewhat slow CDROM. If you have a
broadband connection it is very fast, sub second response in most cases.
Unfortunately you cannot use it with logic since logic requires the actual
data on the drive and makes its' own index.
How about supporting this? It would keep you absolutely up to date and it
would save a LOT of money. This dll method is or will be soon available for
other call books too.
Already there are logging programs that support this be default. In fact ANY
program that uses the manufacture provided interface instead of trying to
make its own index will work with no changes.
