HI Bard
Well sorry for the junk in my mail
By the way there are today 20 user-defined Field to set up and use
instated the 10 in logic 5.
I use it to carry on the "R" singe in qsl send and qsl received in copy
from prefix table.

Subject: RE: [Logic] Question on the Power Field
Hi Roland,
K1UQ has the correct response (Logform screen -to- ser-defined Field
set-up
Screen -to- "carry value forward" column). U
This does just as Bill stated, and ditto his warning i.e., it does just
that, copies what you got from the last QSO in the log.
There was another response (sorry, I deleted it too quick so don't
remember
who sent it) but I believe it was directed at going to the Logform
screen,
then Log Set-up, then navigating to the "Copy from previous QSO's" tab
and
entering the appropriate data in the "From" and "To" fields. This only
copies the specified data from a previous QSO with the SAME call. So it
won't work as a general copy from/to tool.
This persons comment did make me think of a completely different way to
get
this to automatically work though (thanks to whoever it was). One could
utilize the "Copy from prefix table" screen and write an expression that
would enter a value based on, for example, "band" into a userfield
("Copy
from prefix table" in reality can log anything whether related to the
prefix
table or not). This would mean that only one expression per userfield
could
be written, so if you were trying to do Amp, Antenna, Rig, and Preamp
you
would need to consume 4 lines out of the "Copy from prefix screen" (I
think
only 4 were left open in the default layout). I suppose if you only had
a
few it would work okay. But, this way you wouldn't need the drop-down
userfields, they would be just blank fields, and would auto-fill with
the
correct data whenever you logged a QSO. No having to enter or select
from a
list.
I think Bill and others in the group are a tad higher on the programming
ladder than me (I know squat about foxpro, or whatever the base language
is), but hey it sure sounds like it would work. I'll try a three
antenna to
band expression later and see if it does.

Hello, how would I accomplish having info in a drop down userfield added
to
a log form carry over form QSO to QSO, without having to selecting info
in
drop down each time?
