Hi Bill..

I've developed a habit of having a Norton Ghost image of the original
install on my 2nd disc...Operating system and all apps, but with no data
added, and DEFINITELY no web surfing done. If at any stage I get any
"baggage" as you've described, I just copy back the clean .GHO
image...having first backed up all my data files of course...
  God bless Mr Norton and his ghost...... That's some useful utility for
sure..
