I think that you hit the nail on the head. I thought he was going to  change
that. I think a significant amount (very significant IMHO) was removed when
the change to make size depend on FONT was added. Since it ALWAYS maximizes
the size for the selected font this may make it bigger than I want. Who
cares if I don't want to see the compel window? It also does not allow me to
completely fill the screen the way the original poster wants.

I vote for a change here. I hope it is considered.

OTOH, perhaps he has a good reason for this design and it would be more
trouble that it is wroth to change it back, if so, so be it. I can live with
it.
