[Logic] Problem with userfields

Hi
I wonder can anyone help.
I use all my 10 userfields to store chapter numbers etc for 1010.
A problem has arisen in that sometimes the field will not store. If I 
reenter using the callsign with -m (Mobile) and renter the userfield it 
will retain. I just delete the -m and all is well but this can be a 
lengthy process. Anyone come across this problem or anyone any 
ideas??. By the way I am using version 5.2
