[Logic] QSL Requested

I have my Log page set up to automatically put 'R' in both boxes as soon as
I enter and activate a call in the log, (Forgot what I did to set it up that
way, but somebody on the list will remember and enlighten us). That way you
also always know exactly how many QSL card 'requests' are building up in
your log, by doing a filter on 'QSL s', so you can print out your cards or
labels before too many requests build up. I always QSL everyone that I work,
some via Bureau and others direct. When I receive a QSL card and enter it
into the log, the 'QSL r' box is automatically filled in with an 'F' and the
date received is also entered automatically. Same thing when printing cards
or labels, the 'F' is automatically entered in the 'QSL s' box, as is the
date sent/printed. That helps you to manage your log's data.
To answer your question Ross, you put the 'R' in the 'QSL r' box in
anticipation of receiving a card and to indicate to your log (and yourself)
that a card has NOT been received from that station. You put the 'R' in the
'QSL s' box in order to indicate that you have NOT sent a card to that
station, yet or ever, If you really don't want to QSL a certain station,
replace the 'R' with an 'X'. Similarly, as Frank has indicated, if you
receive a card from a station that you have NOT sent a card to, put an 'R'
in the 'QSL s' box (in place of the 'X'), so that a card will be sent to
that station with your next card/label printing job. These indicators are
also used by your various report generating programs. LOGic is certainly a
great program, easily manipulated by one self.
