[LEARC] Bridge the Gap-Quincy, IL

Greetings fellow hams!

If you will recall, I mentioned this community service opportunity during April's meeting. However, I forgot to remind those of you in attendance at last evening's meeting. The annual Bridge the Gap fundraiser walk/run is in dire need of amateur radio operators to assist with communication. This event grows exponentially each year and the team is great group to work with!


Please read this for more details:

Setup for Bridge the Gap Race will be Friday at 5:00 p.m. at Riverview Park.  Don’t feel like you have to make a special trip down for this but you 
are welcome to come.  We will start setup in Clat Adams Park around 
6:30.  We will likely be working until dark.
 
Saturday we will be meeting at 7:15 a.m. at the command post in Clat Adams 
Park.  We will have a briefing and hand out vests, radios, and t-shirts.  Everyone will be on location by 7:30.  The race begins at 8:00.  
Finalized assignments will be sent out by email on Thursday.  Please 
monitor your email closely this week for updates.  
 
I am still looking for a few volunteers will you check with the people up that way to see if you can find anyone willing to help?  If they would 
like to help I need a phone number (preferably cell phone number for the race roster) for them and their t-shirt size.
