I am pleased to note this posted here on the LEARC Reflector about your recent event, and the sincere thank you extended to those stations participating.

Many do not realize that such PSE support earn much good will for amateur radio and participating operators with the public and event organizers, and are good practice and exercise for the emergency!

Well done, such public service events using amateur radio are worthy of note, so forwarded this on to the ARRL Illinois Section Manager and Section Emergency Coordinator.

Keep up the fine business, LEARC, and I add my thanks, too.

for providing communications for the Macomb Heritage Days 2011 Parade Committee! Another huge Kudos goes out to Jesse Risley K9JLR for providing weather updates. I was able to relay that information to the Parade Committee Chair. 


I believe this was the smoothest event I have experienced for a number of years and look forward to next year! Due to the amount of traffic via the 06 repeater, next year we should implement tactical identification protocol to be more efficient.


A side note, Parade Chair shared that next year's entry registration form will be revised to include number of feet used per vehicle participating/needed in parade. Should you have any other concerns/suggestions, please send me an email off reflector and I will gladly relay that information, immediately at samplesail at yahoo.com


Again, thank you for your commitment to the Macomb community during its annual celebration and assuring it was an efficient/safe one!
