Jesse:
I will not be available to assist but would suggest that volunteers at least cover the sag wagon and at least one control point if you have only two volunteers.

Subject: [LeArc] Ham Radio Community Service Activity
Next club meeting Oct 12th 2010 at 7:00 PM
Please join us Sunday Night for the
Lamoine Emergency ARC Sunday Evening Net.
Net time is 8:00 PM local time.
If anyone is interested in helping, Macomb High School will be hosting an
Illinois High School Association Class 1A Cross Country Regional on October 23
at Spring Lake Park. The girls race begins at 10 a.m. with the boys race to
follow at 10:45 a.m.
Given our ability to provide what would actually be much welcomed and needed
communications, the coach is interested in seeing if hams are willing and able
to participate in this event as course scouts/communications liaisons at various
points along rural roads near Spring Lake. If so, we would need to meet at the
far north campgrounds of Spring Lake park between 9 and 9:30 AM Saturday
morning. You would need to bring an HT, and volunteers would be stationed along
the route at rural posts, as well as at the starting point.
If you have an HT and/or you would be willing to help, please reply to me. This
would be a volunteer position at an entirely not-for-profit event, but it is
community service using ham radio. I told them that, based on such short
notice, I couldn't guarantee securing any assistance for Saturday.
Jesse, K9JLR
