There were 8 members and 2 guest present at the meeting.
Both the secretary's report and the treasurer's report were accepted as read.
In order to garner more interest in the club, Dustin, KC9LRC progenerated sample post cards for display at the meeting. After a brief discussion, the club decided the move forth with this plan of sending hams in McDonough County post cards with information about meeting times and dates for the club. These will be sent to hams that are not currently active as paid club members, with the hope of attracting more interest in club affairs. Sam, WA2SAM and Rich, N9EWQ are going to work on generating a list of hams in the county so that we can generate post card labels at the next meeting.
Ted Williamson and Rich Sample are working on having a technician level ham radio license class in Macomb this Spring. Tentatively speaking, a class is in the works to be held on Wednesday evenings from sometime in mid-March until mid-May. Further details will be forthcoming when final arrangements are compiled.
Rich, N9EWQ assented to take the ARRL Emergency Coordinator position for McDonough County, and will be working with Gary Shanks, KA9FAJ from Hancock County to get situated in this position - thanks much to Rich for agreeing to fill this important role!
The addition of Echolink to the VHF repeater continues to tabled due computer porting issues with WIU. Rich, N9EWQ reported that he plans to investigate more on the UHF repeater's poor operation at Lincoln Hall when the weather improves.
Move over Jack Benny; the Sunday evening nets are recoiling from hibernation! Due to popular demand, we are reviving the nets. Amateur Radio Newsline may well be added again to future nets - stay tuned.
