Tony Coniglio attempted to post to the reflector this morning at 7:00 am, in 
regard to the blizzard warnings and conditions for our region. The blizzard 
warning has expired. However, everyone should exercise extreme care when 
traveling due to dangerous windchills and blowing/drifting snow.

As I drove to work today, lesser amounts of snow fell west and south of 
Tennessee, IL. However, Quincy seemed to have received approximately the same 
amount as Carthage.

Friction from numerous tires passing over blowing snow in a given area over a 
short amount of time does cause glazing. High wind gusts can cause a vehicle to 
lose traction quickly in these areas. Check your tire pressure and tread before 
traveling and make sure you let someone know your travel route, time of 
departure and approximate time of arrival at destination.
