Hi All:

I can put together a small impromtu Foxhunt (direction finding-DF) on either Saturday or Sunday.   If you have never done any foxhunting and would like to try your hand at it this would be the one to consider.   Equipment needed would be a VHF radio or scanner with an RF level indication  or even a dual band hand held, and possibly some small wire or paper clips that would fit on the antenna connector of your radio .  This would be a small foot hunt over some areas that will not be physically taxing .   I will teach you the minimal techniques of foxhunting and show some small inexpensive equipment that you can consider or build if you get the bug.  Foxhunting is a fun exercise and a good opportunity to have some fun with friends.

If you are interested I would like to get a numbers count of who would like to attend .  We could even grab a lunch or afternoon wrapup at the Corner Cafe in Colchester (they have pie don't they?) .

I would like to get at least 4 people to hold the event , so reply post your interest here so we can get a head count.

Mark Garrett

" Mark discussed his transmitter "Crystal," and the club entertained the idea of hosting a hidden transmitter "fox hunt" sometime in the near future.  An informal hunt might be held this weekend at Lake Argyle just as a trial event."
