With 12 members in attendance, we were able to get all standing business matters resolved.

The club acknowledged and wished to thank Mike Haefner, N5YM for his gracious dontation of $40.00 to our club. Mike and his wife have ties to the area, visits the Macomb area from time to time, and wanted to kick in that donation to help defray the repeater antenna repair costs.

It was discussed that the Constitution and By-laws currently require 10 members to be present before business can be conducted, this might be unreasonably high, and that we might want to look at either revising this number or changing it to a fixed percentage of the membership (10-11 members is about the best we ever get at any meeting). Please forward any comments or concerns about this provision to me, as it will likely be revised or possibly changed in the near future.

The final receipts for the VHF repeater antenna project were resolved and Mark refunded the club the difference between the mount that he purchased (not usable for this project) from the club and the Primus mount that was used for the project.

It was voted to go ahead and disconnect the telephone lines for the VHF repeater, as this is no longer required per FCC regulations. The UHF repeater phone line was disconnected several months ago. These disconnections will save the club about $40.00/month. The club authorized Rich to purchase the receiver to make the necessary repairs and get the UHF repeater back online (tentatively may be done around Christmas time). Upon making this motion, John Carson and Don Johnson also kicked in $20.00 each as a dontation to help defray the costs of this project.

John Carson, N9LBC of the McDonough County Sheriff's office made a short pitch about weather spotter safety and new federal guidelines. There is a new federal guideline that all volunteers or workers that are performing duties on or near federally funded right-of-ways need to be wearing an ANSI compliant (Type II or greater) safety vest, and this likely applies to weather spotters. John will bring literature to the next club meeting and we will explore having individual members who wish to purchase their own vests buy something that all club members would be able to use on a relatively uniform basis.

The new repeater antenna has had mobile station reports in excess of 50 miles in some directions. There is an obvious "shadow" area to the WSW of the repeater, which was expected.
