Subject: [GPSL] Snox IV Status Update
Hello all,
UTARC is excited to announce that Snox IV has comfortably broken the
earlier great circle distance record of 1411 miles, set by Bill Brown in
2005. At 16:01 UTC (12:01 EDT), the balloon had traveled 1511 miles due
east of the launch site, and was continuing to track in that direction
at well over 100 MPH. The DTRC network is continuing to send back
reports, and 142 stations have sent data. The experimental dashboard
that we are using for this flight has been performing fairly well,
considering the load on our servers: more than 3 million file accesses
in the last 12 hours! Ballast is being used at a higher rate than
expected, but we still have 3/4 of our tank left. Feel free to drop by
our site at spiritofknoxville. com for more details.
73,
Mike
