This message is just a reminder that our club has been asked to provide routine communications/organizational assistance for the Heritage Days Parade on Saturday, June 28. If you are willing and able to help, please plan to meet with Ms. McCormick and the LEARC group at 8:15 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday) at Lafayette Square apartments (intersection of S. Lafayette and E. Jefferson streets) for general directions, and then be in your assigned location by 8:30 a.m. It was suggested that dress remain semi-casual, but professional of course.

It's recommended that you bring a traffic safety vest (if you have one) and an HT for communications purposes. You may also wish to bring bottled water and sunscreen along too! Since the UHF repeater is down, the .06 machine will probably be utilized.

For those not familiar, we are generally directing participants to their proper locations and ensuring that the general parade operations runs smoothly and efficiently. Our use of amateur radio also provides the necessary communications between the parade organizers and other stakeholders. Our participation does NOT entitle anyone to any sort of special privileges or authority above and beyond that of any ordinary citizen. Traffic and crowd control should be left to the appropriate authorities.

Regards,

Jesse, K9JLR
