After reviewing the weather predictions, we are aiming for a more
precise launch time (weather permitting) of 0200 UTC 1/15/08 (9:00PM
Eastern Time Monday, 1/14) from Island Home Airport in Knoxville.
Weather at 9PM Eastern, depending on the weather site you look at,
averages out to the following:
Temperature: 33 F
Humidity: 57%
Dewpoint: 19 F
Winds: WNW 5-7 mph
Skies: Mostly Cloudy
DTRC users should be listening for a signal on 30 meters at
approximately 0800 UTC (3:00AM Eastern Time) as the payload crosses the
Carolina coastline and out into the Atlantic.
UTARC is still looking for stations on both sides of the Atlantic to
monitor for the payload on 30m via DTRC (Distributed Tracking Relay
Client). All you need is an HF receiver and a computer with a constant
connection to the internet. Details and instructions are available at
http://dtrc. utarc.org. < http://dtrc. utarc.org. >
While over the US, the payload will be on the standard APRS frequency of
144.390. The 30 meter frequency will be approximately 10.126 LSB, +/- 1
kHz. The 30m frequency will be transmitting CW and RTTY.
