[LeArc] Storm Spotting / Chasing

While this message in no way reflects direct club business, I have been asked to send out a general message about storm spotting and/or chasing etiquette, due to recent events this past Thursday evening.

Remember that while spotters and chasers provide a valuable service to to community, gross disregard for traffic laws and regulations is not permissible for ordinary citizens, even if you are performing a public service such as storm spotting.  Please remember that our actions influence the public perceptions about storm spotters and amateur radio operators.  Placing the public in danger via reckless driving while trying to perform a public service such as storm spotting is a paradox that could have very negative consequences.  Failure to obey traffic laws may also result in prosecution to the fullest extent of those laws.
