Hello All:

Bill Brown, WB8ELK has asked me if we might be able to do a balloon flight
originating in Macomb, IL as part of a much larger balloon experiment to
be considered for November 3rd. I am looking for volunteers in the Macomb
area that could assist with the deployment of the balloon, possible
logistics facilities to track the balloon in the immediate area for
control and communications with other groups and foxhunters to track and
recover the balloon once it is down. I do have one volunteer with a chase
plane so far if weather permits and it does not land in a controlled air
space. I assume that any balloon launched from Macomb would head either
Northeast, east or southeast 90 to 140 miles downrange, placing it in a
swath of central and east-central Illinois. This will be narrowed down
somewhat as the launch date draws closer.

This plan is in it's initial stages of consideration but if you would like
to participate in either hunting, tracking or launching, please contact me
so I can give you updates and let you know where we stand on this flight.
If you have never participated in a balloon flight they can be quite fun.
