This is indeed a great loss to the local ham community.  I think I speak for everyone when I say that Rolla was a wonderful role model and an effecive "Elmer" for many local hams.  We will discuss memorial options at the meeting Tuesday night.  Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Hello Everyone. I have some sad news to pass on to everyone. Rolla 
Hightower, WB9HVD, Macomb IL has gone silent key.

I recieved a call this evening from Josh, KC9AHI informing me of the passing 
of Rolla. From what Josh told me, Rolla passed out yesterday morning. He was 
taken to MDH and put in Intensive Care. This Afternoon, he was feeling 
better and walking around the hospital, where he collapsed and passed away.

I do not know any ceremony times or dates, but I will be sure to pass them 
along when available.

Rolla was a great man and will be missed.
