This is just a last "plea" to see if anyone would be willing to drive up to the NWS office in Davenport this Saturday in order to attend the severe wx ham radio net control operators meeting as a representative of McDonough County. The meeting convenes at 10 AM this Saturday, February 3rd. I have directions if needed. Brandon, KC9ILN will attend but he needs to ride with someone since he has not yet received his drivers license.

The NWS had added a new tower with directional antennas that will allow them to almost double their 2m/70 cm range from that NWS office's base radio station. They are holding a meeting to discuss the following questions:
    1. How do we effectively and efficiently incorporate the increased information flow into our existing operations? How can things better be organized?

The NWS would like to get everyone together for a meeting before spring to develop a communication strategy and severe weather net protocol between their office and all of the participating Skywarn amateur radio groups. For this to work, they need 1 or 2 representatives from each ham Skywarn group who can participate in discussions on behalf of their respective organization to attend a meeting so they can work out a mutually beneficial strategy.

Regards,
Jesse / K9JLR
