This message comes as a reminder that we will be having our regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the La Moine Emergency Amateur Radio Club next Tuesday, February 13th at 7:00 p.m. at the American Red Cross building on Maple Avenue in Macomb. If you need a ride please contact me.

The main item on the agenda will be guest speaker Dan Kreps, our McDonough County E.S.D.A. coordinator, who is still tentatively scheduled to come and address some questions and concerns that were raised at the last meeting regarding the relationship between local amateurs and the county E.S.D.A. program. We will also discuss the upcoming severe weather spotting season and the possibility of forming an ARES program in the future. If Tony (KB9NAB) is able to attend, we will also hear a very positive report from his representation of LEARC/McDonough County at the NWS severe weather spotter net control meeting last Saturday at the NWS office in Davenport.

We are also very close to setting up a technician level amateur radio license class here in Macomb in the very near future. The class will be offered independent of LEARC, but a local amateur will be teaching the course.

Please plan to attend this meeting if at all possible, as some important and very informative topics are on the table!

Regards,

Jesse / K9JLR
