The Bird watt meter that is out at Horne Lodge IS NOT the Bird that was on the ATV 440 in the radar room. As I told George and a few others, the Bird wattmeter with the 440 slug was in the radar room when I left ESDA. After I left several items were hauled removed from the room. The original radar which had remained for demonstration purposes was hauled away by the university. IT was on the shelf above that unit that the bird was located. I would guess that it was junked out with the other equipment which included a new spare antenna for the 2 meter / 440 radio in the radar room.

Mark is still working on getting a UPS backup installed on the VHF repeater.

UPS is now installed from the unit at Lincoln Hall. However there is a club UPS that needs new batteries. It is estimated at a cost of $26 for 12v at 9AH batteries which it would need two of them. The UPS had four 6 volt batteries in series and we could convert easily to the 12 volt batteries as there is no performance difference, they will fit without modification and are probably priced more economical than replacing the four six volt batteries once you consider batteries and shipping. We should make this a matter of business if we want to place these batteries on our wish list or obtain new ones. Since we currently have a UPS on both repeaters, the purchase can be deferred for the time being.

George inquired about the bird watt meter, which may be out at Horn Lodge. Mark is going to see if that unit is at the repeater site on his next visit.

George observed the wattmeter that was out at Horn Lodge and it did not have a UHF slug in it. George was unable to determine if this wattmeter is the one that he remembered up at the radar room.

We are still working on installing Echolink at the VHF repeater site at Horn Lodge. Mark reported that the issue at this time getting Internet access at the site. There will be some reconfigurations necessary at that location before any additional progress can be made.

The Ecolink configuration still needs to be reworked at Horn Lodge due to changes made in Networking and port changes made. I am currently working with University Computing services on this and several other issues associated with this change and will give a progress report when there is progress made in this area.
